I’m a broadcast journalist based on Vancouver Island. Multi-media storytelling is my profession and photography has been a big part of my life since I bought my first camera as a teenager. Just as turning on a recording device or opening a notebook begins a journalistic exploration of an event or personal journey, capturing an image with a camera begins an exploration of the elements which make up a scene. What I seek in the final image are the visual elements that create that scene: structure, grain, flow of lines, contrast, colour, or complexity of detail. Enhancing these elements using digital post-production software allows the finished image to be complete.
